Modest Officials’ Pay Increase Fails

Home | LHSOA Executive Committee | Modest Officials’ Pay Increase Fails

On January 30, 2015, at the Annual Convention of the LHSAA, very modest fee increases for Louisiana High School basketball and volleyball officials failed to get the necessary support from the Louisiana high school principals. In addition, a separate proposal submitted by a one principal was passed that will effectively decrease pay for our baseball and softball umpires by doing away with the half-fee structure paid umpires for rain-out games. The LHSOA Executive Committee met today and agreed to an action plan that we believe will properly respond to the principals’ continued refusal to recognize the valuable service provided by our officials. We ask that you visit our website often for updates on this vitally important issue affecting all of our officials.
